After getting my Michelin road map today I've set about planning my route for my summer tour next year. My basic route will follow Korns' but I will be heading further south in Spain to Barcelona.

Being a keen cyclist as well, I want to ride over some of the famous Cols [on the motorbike obviously] and see them for myself. However, I'm unsure of how to tackle the Alps. Having a look at the maps either Torino or Gap/Grenoble look like the best options to enter the Alps. I would like to ride Alpe-d'Huez or the Galibier before heading off north aiming for the Ring, so Gap looks to be the better option.

So has anyone got any advice on which route/roads to head for in the Alps?

I'm planning on either a 3 or 4 week trip so time isn't that much of an issue.

Thanks for any help... Very Happy

You could always hire out a road bicycle and have a crack at the classic climbs too Wink
