More than thirty-nine people viewed the post, perhaps some of them viewed the information contained in the links too. I didn't expect replies, I just hoped a few people would see what was happening around them, it seems I have succeeded.
I later decided the post did not need to remain as it had served its purpose, so I deleted it.

It is clear to anyone who can think for themselves that European politics is changing their lives before their very eyes.
Others will continue to plod-on in their own little worlds, believing that a post-democratic era and being ruled by a police-state, is good for them.

I never mentioned the BNP, the post was about the EPP and the PES, therefore clearly linked to Brown's signing of the Lisbon treaty and so makes it a current affair and so very much on-topic, whether you like it or not.
In my opinion, your constant reference to the BNP proves that you have succumbed to the brainwashing fed to you by years of watching television and (depending on your age) your education too.

Like the government and the media, you have failed to learn that each time you mention the BNP, people become intrigued and then find out for themselves what the BNP is about. After which, they will make up their own minds.

the problem is NOT with European politics, but how they are applied in the UK.

There are many guidlines and the like which come out from Brussels, where most other countries apply them with a liberal helping of common sense within the context of their own social structure, both with respect to tradition as well as economically. In Britain, however, they are enforced as the law.

There are markets in France, for example, in most towns, on most days of the year, where you'll see live animals and fresh, raw meat in relatively close proximity. European environmental health recomendations suggests that they ben kept apart. In France they recognise that people know the risks involved and know how to cook food safely to avoid killing themselves with food poisoning, so they are, largely, ignored.

In the UK, we've been nannied for so long, and with such a poor education and dietary record that the majority no longer know how to cook safely if it doesnt involve a microwave. The British government takes these recommendations and enforces them rigorously.

If you want to complain about ANYONE taking draconian measures and eroding our identity or civil liberties, then look at our own government before you hit Europe.
