hi all.

great forum you have here Thumbs Up

maybe someone could help point me in the direction with my arai corsair rx7 Very Happy

basically...

i have owned it since february, never dropped or mistreated, and not used very often, in fear of ruining it Embarassed Laughing

and noticed that the polestyreine type material within the chin piece has kinda....collapsed Confused
so would like to know, would this be replaced by a new helmet at the dealer i purchased it from?

or can this piece be replaced?

i have 2 pictures here, but are only from my phone as i dont yet have a camera, so they will probably not be of much help. Embarassed
so i do apologise.

but if anyone could help, i would be very pleased. Mr. Green

I'm looking into my corsair at the moment and i can only thing that you might have been carrying your lid around the chin bar applying pressure to it with your fingers? Because if you did, chances are they wont replace it because it states in their manual that it's best to carry the lid with a closed and secured chin strap - i.e. you do the double D up and carry it like that. So i probably think that with sufficient pressure, it can lead to that. If you got your lid from a 5* arai dealer, they'll send it back to phoenix distribution and sort it out. But i don't reckon it can be replaced. But i'm pretty sure it wouldn't affect the performance (looks into vent of corsair). Thumbs Up

It shouldn't affect the performance much because the external shell will take the impact - the structural net composite. The polystyrene absorbs any elastic energy. Should be OK i should think. I do suspect i was because of the way that you carried your lid because the arai has an unusually complex ventilation system.

Afaik, the only purpose of that inner piece is to direct the airflow depending on where you set the vent. It's the same in the Chaser.
