my brother has asked me to write this to inform y ou lot that there are dick heads on the road as you probably know. he was going straight on at a set of traffic lights when a driver turning right from his left pulled out in front of him. he suffered fractured leg, broke a small bone in his knee, and has testicals the size of apples apparantly! he said that was the first thing that hit the tank. The driver is being prosecuted with driving without due care and attention and the bike is pretty mashed he thinks. he will have to pay £180 for it being stored over the passed few days. he was wearing an apinstar jacket and gloves which were not even damaged and a coberg helmet that wasnt scratched at all. the only part which wasnt covered was his legs and bollocks and as a result hes now in the hospital. he is assuming that the bike is a write off as the officer said the forks were bent and none of the plastic on the sides would stay on. i dont know what else to say only that he is coming out later today or early tomorrow depending on what the testical doctor says(apparently shes quite nice) surprising what some people will do for a grope!
he told me to tell you lot on here "watch out for everything, the guy who hit me hesitated then went anyway just be careful i was lucky to escape with minor injurues" and "ill post some pics of the bike when we get it back"

Hope he gets better soon.
I dunno what i can say, theres not too much to say, its says it all in the above post.

Hi

Ouch. Hope he gets well soon.

By the way, replace the helmet anyway. Chances are it has impacted something.

All the best

Ouch Sad Hope he is well again soon

Well, if the guy is being prosecuted, then he will get insurance money, which could mean his 400 coming sooner Wink

He should be able to get most other costs, such as storage, and kit replacement. Hopefully that driver will be banned, and have his license revoked!

Most accidents are through the errors of other people and not your own. Ride and drive with the inpression that everyone is mad, and out to run you over

what a twat- they just don't think do they?

get well soon.

There was a very bad accident near my home the other day- my dad rang and told me. My dads mate (also a biker) was coming to see my dad in a truck and he was following a small van. He says that there was a bike coming the other way (not speeding or doing anything dangerous) and the van just turned right across his path without seeing him at all. The lad went into the side of the van then flew over the top, but his helmet came off in the air and he landed head-first into the road. Apparently mike (my dads mate) went to check if he was alright and he had no jaw or anything and he must have died instantly. Mike assumed he didn't have his helmet done up but he picked it up off the road and the strap was still fastened- it was just a freak accident. My dad said Mike was sick and he just turned around and went home cos he was so upset. He says a helicopter came and landed on the road, but when they saw him they said there was nothing they could do so they just left him there for an ambulance to come and collect him.

i do'nt believe it. if you had just had a serious crash you wouldnt get your brother to write a message on a bike chat forum to tell you about it. that would be the last thing on your mind. id you ask me its a sympathy message as everyone seems to be pissed off with this 'jimbo' at the moment.

Err.. to be fair his brother (assuming he's not lying) posted this today, yet said he had the accident on Saturday... two days sitting in hospital is plenty enough time to consider asking someone to post on a forum for you.

so you are saying if you had an accident a couple days later you would ask a member of your family to write a message on a message board about you having accident. if its true then its fuckin sad, get into the real world.

*I* may well do. Just as I might ask family to call other friends/work etc.
There are plenty of people on here that I would consider 'friends', just because I usually talk to them though the internet rather than down the pub on a Friday night doesn't make them a lower class of firends.

While we're talking about people that are 'fuckin sad' what about those that come onto chat forums to have a go at people it seems they don't know in circumstances they don't know about?.. without bothering to register or leave anything in a ny way identifing.

Guest: fuck off. If you want to slag us off, login. Much as we like giving jimbo -ve karma, and making jokes about him, no one here would like him to be run over.

Jimbo: I wouldnt worry about the exhaust. I dont think they would do anything, and if you did remove it, then they would be "why is the exhaust not damaged?"

Unless they wan't to be real arseholes (inwhich case they would have impounded it probably) they won't do anything about it.
They can't exactly claim it was a cause of the accident... because it's more likey to make people notice you rather than less likely.

Hope you're not in too much pain Jimbo, maybe the fact that the impact with the tank could have caused severe damage will give u a considerable compensation payout. It sounds like a crazy manouver the car tried to pull, like he drove straight 'through' the lanes of traffic on his right...including you. I shouldnt worry about the exhaust either, it wouldnt be a factor in the accident so shouldnt be of any concern.

I should imagine the driver of the car will get a clip round the ear for his 'naughty driving' and told not to do it again... Evil or Very Mad

Ouch man Sad
Hope you get better soon!
Hope your family don't put to much pressure on you about giving up biking. It was you that said your family were trying to convince you to get a car instead, wasn't it?
Just think of the shinny 400 that you could get at the end Smile
