Replacing some lights on a very high post today (twice lamp post size) so used a large ish cherry picker.... 2 of us went up to take the top off the post.. we got it in the basket and checked the weight warning was okay which it was initally so we panned out away from the post at full height, then as we let go of the left/right stick and went to go down... the weight warning decided to kick in Shocked

the picker basket tilted sideways then the alarm went off and it got stuck!!!! so theres me and mate stuck in a cherry picker basket with half a lamp post, in mid air in the middle of a car park with no one to help us down... we had to wait for an hour for another member of staff to come and let us down manually Laughing

It was kinda scary when we realised it wouldn't re-start Laughing and it was fucking freezing, and what made it worse is 5 mins after it got stuck the winds picked up quite significantly!

Finally got down and went for a nice cup of tea to warm up Laughing

thought our misfortune might cheeer someone up.

Haha I know the feeling. We were felling a dead Horse Chestnut by a road side using a cherry picker. What happened was a load of sawdust had collected in the basket which caused the alarm to scream and us unable to move until we figured out what the problem was.

It's not stuck here, but it was in this position, only basket wonky and a fair bit higher Laughing
