They take pity on you and think "Damn his clever plan" and let you off.

I assume you mean traffic wardens? They'll keep sending you letters until they send a CCJ to your house with bailiffs! And don't think that you can get away with it! We've been chased for a fine on our vehicle which was sold but still kept getting them. What borough council did you then?

Its not worth not paying it. If your at fault then as much as it hurts and is at the wrong time of the year just bite the bullet and pay it.

If your not at fault then write a letter and send it off. you then get to buy more time and if the disagree with you yo still pay the lower amount.. it will take 2-6 weeks to hear from them so you will be on your next pay date hopefully Smile

remember to send it recorded so you have proof if you do write in as they have a habit of loosing them.

Appeal it, even if you are 100% guilty, at the very least it will give you an extra month or so to pay, Make your written appeal within the 30 days and then they freeze your clock while the appeal is taken into consideration...

Over 40% of PCN's are overturned on appeal, alot for reasons such as lack of evidence... the Wardens must make alot of mistakes and false tickets... You hav enothing to loose, even if you fail you can usually still pay at the reduced rate...
