1st of all, i ride a rvf400 not a scooter!, but for work im not allowed to use my bike and have to use the pizza huts scooters.

well this week its gotten a lot colder around here, its been hanging around at 5-8c but this week its dropped to -8c and its been tortue using the scooters.

the other night i had a layer of ice over my jacket, on my helmet and the visor fogged up instantly when closed and it was toture. I couldnt feel my feet or hands and my eyes hurt everytime i blinked.

generally ive been wearing Cat boots with around 4 layers of socks and spada gloves with 2 gloves under them but there still freezing after 15 minutes from leaving the shop.

any suggestions what i should buy so that it isnt absolute tortue working, are heated gloves effective?

i think bar muffs would be a better idea

especially as im guessing its a works scooter

they fit over the bars and levers, so its a glove thats attached to the bike that you put your hand in, while wearing normal gloves

Is there a problem with bar muffs folding into brake/clutch levers at speed?

you can stop this, by fixing the bar end bolt thorugh the muff, or putting a stiffening bar in the leading edge of the muff

to be honest, i dont ride fast enough when its cold for it to be a problem

its fine at 70mph, and i doubt the scooter is gonna go faster than that

it does feel a little different and can take a bit of getting used to

you have to tear them open to get the heating elements out (looks like they will be useless as biker gloves) and rig them up to your bike battery , thinking about it 3AAA each thats 4.5 volts X2 = 9 volts which is a tad iffy.to keep them constantly heating like Joe's heated gloves.

As those are supposed to be turn them on till they get warm and switch them off, these babies are no match for wind chill at 20mph let alone 30-50mph.

Probably best to go get some of that wire that warms up (without electricuting you) Mr Z uses and wire them into the little light thing in your head light which is utterly useless anyway.

another key thing tho, is keep your core body temp up, and ur hands wont get cold, so wear lots more layers of clothers on your body
