hi I've recently PX my bandit for a 1997 (P reg) gsxr750 which I think is the last of the carbed models.
It isnt the best of the out there and has running problem which i think is the fuelling.

can anyone point me in the right direction to finding a workshop manual or any really good websites for the bike.

thanks.

basically its very eradic. you pull off in first and the bike just jerks backwards and forwards as if its running rich and having major problems igniting and gets slightly better as you get further up the rev range but makes me look like I cant ride as bike is allover the place as the jerking backwards and forwards is really bad. It does this through all the gears and the tacho when stuttering drops to zero and goes berzerk with a red light appearing in the bottom right hand corner turning on.

the person i bought it from says the bike has beeen standing for a while and could be bad fuel but I put a top up in yesterday so yet too find out. the bike has a kerker exhaust that sounds awesome so my first instinct is some noob put the pipe on and tried rejetting it himself. when i get a chance i was thinking of ripping the carbs off and checking the jet sizes but i dont know what they should be.

Also the tyres are shagged can anyone recommend a nice set as i may do a trackday on the 5th of jan and would like to do it on the gsxr if i can but new shoes are definately needed.

First off, you need to take the carbs off and give them a clean. Use carb cleaner and clean any gum and varnish out of the jets and float bowls. If its all clean in there, then it could be something else. Still, I'd lay good odds on it being gummed-up carbs.

Pirelli Diablo Corsas for mainly road and some track riding, and Supercorsas for mainly track riding. Thumbs Up

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

How many miles has it done then?

My bandit ran like that because of worn carbs.

Deano, you should know not to buy a bike that doesn't run properly! Very Happy

HEHE i couldnt help it kris its my dream bike and i got it PX with £600 for the bandit.

I saw les today and he thinks its electrical, it makes because as you drive along the tacho drops too zero when the stuttering cuts in which indicates the power being dropped so was advised to over the connectors and give them a good clean.
i really would love this sorted by the 5th as jon wants to do a trackday and i badly want to go. I could get the nc going but i gotta get it down there.

btw I didnt never made the bumbandit comment that was something alex came up with. I would still love a bandit for 2nd bike for commuting as its best bike for it.
