the bike was running fine yesterday but then today i took the airbox off and put it back on and now when i rev the bike the revs get stuck and if i didnt hold the back brake the bike would take off. even when riding when slowing down i can feel the bike still revving so the engine braking isnt as good and i have to brake harder than normal but when stopped the revs normally return to normal tickover. the bike can now ride at about 20mph without revving it at all because of the revs sticking. could i have knocked something in the carb to make it so the rev dont return to idle speed as quick. bike is 51 reg gilera runner vx125. anyway what can i do to make the throttle go back to normal im sure its something to do with the carb

you got a manual mate?
best thing to do is route the cable in the correct way, i have a manual at home that covers the gilera range, if you want i can get you the info tomoz. but if possible try an remember how the cable was routed. when ur holding the back brake in your burning ur clutch off and making it shiney which will then lead to loss of top speed and power. did that to my dna 50.

quick test for you then mate, put it n the center stand and rev it up, then turn the bars when its stuck, you might of moved the cable when you had the airbox off without noticing. taking your airbox off will just adjust the air/fuel mixture wont make it stick unless you have a deisel ped? lol. will be cable, my mates GN125 was a real ball acke. Very Happy

If its a trapped cable or bad cable routing the revs usually rise when the bars are moved from lock to lock on tick over. Sit in the bike with the brakes on when doing it though. Wink

it some times lets the revs off when moved back into an unstressed possition, my mates bike did it was so funny. i didnt let him on the road with it tho far too dangerous.
