Hi,
i reckon its time to change gearbox oil,(aprilia rs125)
book says - SAE 75E - 90.
but cant see any in halfrauds, 'cept for car gearbox stuff, recommended for suby imprezas etc?
will any car oil do? ( as long as its for gearboxes & 75-90?)
stuff i seen was for L.s diffs?
anyone know if it will be ok to use?
what about the numbers - 75/90,
can i deviate slightly - ie - 70/80 0r 80/90? (im sure u know wot i mean)
or anyone know of a suitable alternative
tried rockoil lite before butwasnt sure about it so looking for a synthetic alternative.
cheers,
GAZ

this should be about right

https://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_263777_langId_-1_categoryId_77871

I had the same problem a while back and was advised by quite a few people to use this. i have had it in mine for about 5000miles and it runs fine Thumbs Up

Any "light gear oil" is what you're after. You'd be hard pushed to justify getting fully synthetic oil for a stroker gearbox.

Failing to find 2T light gear oil, try some motorcycle 10/40 engine oil.

Hi,
found a supplier of silkolene comp lite.(& its synthetic)
which has been recommended by other rs owners.
& its only about £6 or £7.
one thing that confused me tho,
when you ask a garage or halfords etc, for 75w -90 gear oil,
they automatically presume its for a car or 4 wd?
as thats whats seemingly used in them?
so would it be the same stuff?
ie- as long as it says 75W-90.?
cheers,
GAZ
