i recently binned my rs125, bendin the gear lever and the selecter bar amongst other things
got new lever but couldnt get the bar(attaches lever to the gearbox)
seemed fine, but just tonight it started conkin out while i was drivin
it idles fine, but just randomly loses power as i move thru the gears
it is not an engine specific fault(rings piston), im findin gears a little hard to get into now
so does any1 have any idea what would be the cause of it?
thanx

Hi

What do you mean by loosing power? The gearbox would have difficulty absorbing much power without serious damage. Clutch could slip but that would mean the revs going up while little power is transmitted

All the best

its exactly like it is runnin out of petrol
but it isnt! the gearbox feels awful due to the binnin and im assumin the problem is related to that, nobody i know can figure out(mostly car people!) but its not rings or anythin as it idles and runs perfect until u start changin gears
its very annoyin Sad

Hi

Strange. Check the gearbox oil level, but it would have to be very low and virtually seizing for that to have a major effect so I doubt it is very likely

Most likely your description that it is like it is running out of petrol is closer to the truth than you think. It would be worth checking the fuel filters (there is one in the carb on the RS), that the fuel hose isnt blocked / kinked and that the breather hose isnt blocked to the fuel tank

All the best

Keith

ill check around the carb, and fuel lines, might not be a coincidence that i went to reserve just before it started either
