any other places minus bike trader, ebay and pistonheads that are worth a look?

im after a bandit 6 and wanna spend under a grand 7-800 really

MCN used to do a 'bikes for under a grand' sale section. No idea whether they still do however.

try your local advert paper if you have one.you might not find one straight away, but mine always has a good selection.buy 3 or 4 issues before you give up Thumbs Up

Hmm... Hard to explain lol... But where i live theres a newspaper that sell different things and they can range.. From things such as baby toys all the way through to huge boats.. So it includes bikes,cars,trucks and so forth..

Where about are you based?

and on the front of my local advert paper (Bargain Pages)

It says West Midlands and the Black Country if that helps mate.

So yours will be a paper with you're area on it hopefully

Get bike trader and have a look at some of the breakers in the back and google for breakers and salvage. On a bandit the damage is normally superficial if existant at all. Sometimes they get bikes that have no damage at all other than a scrape on the paint or a snapped mirror or have no damage and have been PXed for another bike.

Theres a few others, but its absolutely essential you check the bike out prior to purchase with someone who knows what theyre looking at.

I got my bandit off Kris on here for 550, It had high mileage, but was all mechanically sound and stuff. You get what you pay for. I wanted something which I could run while I'm learning, do basic maintenance, that was a little tatty because having no experience at all I would drop/crash it. I was looking at same sort of price bracket as you, wasn't finding much cept the odd one on ebay, but mainly decent enough condition ones go for 1000-1200.

From my own experience, I'm glad I bought this one, and not a more cosmetically sorted one for more. I've thrown this one down the road two times since I passed, then my friend completely smashed it. If you can, and you dont mind it looking tatty, buy summat that was used as a commuter, generally people seem to keep them in pretty tip top condition in terms of mechanics, and you can always fix any obscene marks.
