ive just bought an aprilia rs125 2000 mobel, when im driving i find the bike is losing power between 5 and 6 thousand rpm but once goes past 6k the power kicks in till about 10,000 rpm and when it losing power its very splutery as if the choke was on any ideas why this is?

there is a thread on there telling you how to solve this problem. CDI mod its called.

Yeh, it just involves cutting a circuit board or something like that. That sorts the problem out.

Hi

As above. It is a deliberate hole in the power delivery caused by a massive amount of ignition retard between 5000 and 6000rpm. Probably to get the bike through noise tests easily.

The cdi mod just trigger the ignition to use a better map.

HI,
i had same problem.
done the CDI modification & it makes a big difference, like a different bike!
easy enough to do, just dont dig too far into sealant!
cut pcb with scissors/pliers & your done!
