After being told I'm too in proportion to get leathers to fit, I'm 6'5" and built. Does anyone have any experiance getting a 2-peice race suit made for them? My first stop was Crowtree, but I believe they have shut down.

I'm getting some done at Hideout in April, so if you can wait until then I'll let you know. Wink

The other stuff I've had done there has been to a very high standard though.

Give Kempy a shout and ask him about getting custom fit - I had a look at the first set of the Triple Challenge ones he's done and they're seriously good. And Kempy crashes a lot so he knows how to design a good suit. I think you'll be hearing a lot about these guys this year.

Another shout for Hideout here, they do a good job on alterations, and the custom suits I have seen from there look the dogs danglies.

Those suits look awesome! Much better than the regular Dianese/Alpinestars you see a lot of. Doesn't say anything about custom fitting on the website though except for the triumph triple challenge riders? Who is this "Kempy" guy and who do we say has told us to get in contact? Smile .

Kempy!

He's a really nice guy who ran in the Triumph Triple Challenge last/this year,
His new suits use some new state of the art armour stuff (I don't know all the techie stuff)

I will be getting a custom made suit from him (due to my non conforming body shape!)
His site is fairly new and should be getting better soon, with a custom form for putting all your measurements in etc.

Liquid armour, sounds good in theory. I'm sure I remember seeing a little story on the news about it and some guy was demonstrating getting hit with a shovel and didn't feel it, but it was all floppy normally.

The measurements form is there for you guys in the triumph triple challenge, but not for the normal suits that's all. I would definitely be interested in one made to measure depending on how much extra it costs (they're already pretty expensive, but I know it's probably worth it). Does the liquid armour cost extra?

I'm too skinny for my height for most off the shelf leathers. So I either have them too baggy or too short in the arms/legs without getting an altered set. Could always get the baggy set altered but I would rather pay extra for a decent set anyway. Plenty of people on here have said Alpinestars and Dianese are not that great in reality.

Hadn't heard of Crowtree shutting down, but remember him talking about retirement so it's possible. Sad. Might pop round to make sure on Sat.

Just noticed on that website that when you actually choose some leathers there is a tickbox for made to measure, £130 extra! That means a minimum of £929. Not sure if I want to spend that much really, will have to weigh up the pros and cons.

The one Bendy posted. Look much better than the Hideout ones I reckon!

Hideout will also design them if you dont like the style. They will make a set from scratch. If thats any help.

But how much would that cost? Probably about the same as the Halo ones I'd imagine. Plus I wouldn't know what design I'd want, I'll let professional designers do that part as they know much better than me! I'm sure Hideout leathers are excellent enough, but when there's some I've seen already that are probably equally as good but I like the looks better it makes sense to just get them instead!
