How much do you have to spend?
I have a garmin III deluxe, cost £80, its big but solid as a brick (which its roughtly the same size as) it has voice out for headphones too.
Software all garmins use (appart from the newest maybe) is mapsource, its all done from there, you plan your route and send it to the gps, or upload "tracks" to the pc so save them.. dont know if any have an export function to google maps.. not something i've seen before..
the etrex is a fine bit of stuff but very pricey for what you actually get, to be any use you want a good sized screen, and colour, mono is too fiddley to be usefull.. the newer etrex is colour but the screen is just too bloody small imo. ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

Foretrex 201 combined with Memory Map.
I use mine for trail riding and love it. Got it for £52 brand new on ebay and Memory Map is available from the usual online places It's completely waterproof and has an inbuilt rechargeable battery with 15 hours life.
Here's an example of a track downloaded from the Garmin to MM.
