For those stuck in on a Friday night...

I am meant to be writing an essay on the treaty of Locarno, but somehow ended up looking at Wikipedia...

Gives an interesting insight to what could happen when, or if it already has oil production is at a peak.

Good god, this forum is morbid. What is everyone's obsession with the end of civilization? Get out and enjoy yourselves for pity's sake!

Oil will never run out , I mean it , it 'll just get so expensive to extract we'll just leave it in the ground ,

But as said with increasing oil prices oil that was previously uneconomical to extract like oil sand is becoming economical to extract.

Alternatives will be developed , on pretty much the same model ie you have to go fill up your car every so often. Hell even the USAF has developed alternative fuel

https://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123027415

All of the supressed technology that has been erm suppressed stolen or their inventors murdered will be opened up.

Just look at how familiar the hydrogen alternative is.... ie you are still reliant on going to somewhere that sells hydrogen and you pump it into your vehicle the company and government get a cut.

Heck there is even an existing alternative diesel , in that Rudolph diesel designed the engine to burn pretty much anything. With big freighter ship engines burning the lowest grade crud that comes from oil wells. To cars that use veg oil.

Hydrogen isn't really a fuel you can extract. Effectively it is something that you can use a load of energy to create and then use as a portable fuel.

The real fuel is whatever you use to provide the energy to extract the hydrogen (which could be oi, gas, coal, nuclear, etc).

All the best
