Hi all. I have a yamaha aerox R 50 2007 model and for some f**king reason I put the liquid coolant in the oil tank!!
I was riding and then it just cut out. Now it wont even go to 20mph.

So i checked the tank I put the coolant in and it said on the lid motor oil. I guess this is the problem.

Any advice on what to do now? Many thanks Aran.

first thing to do would be to empty the tank and fill it with fresh oil...

worst comes to worst, a top end rebuild may need to be done but change the oil for a fresh lot first..

cheers
matt

What oil can I use or would it need. I looked at it and it was a red colour. Cheers Aran.

Um why not pop down to your local bike shop and ask them for a good 2 stroke oil, and by bike shop i mean a big dealer one that know what they're talking about. Although i used to use fully synthetic on my 50 any will do go for shell or any bike make you can afford.
I doubt you would of bent anything if worst comes to worst i guess the water would of just stayed in the bottom of the bike, better get it burned out soon though as it will rust the inside, the oil will get rid of it and lube everything back up, but like i said, be quick!

If it was 2 T oil tank, then you would need to possibly flush the system to remove any traces of water. Water where oil is needed is not a good thing.....
Could be the damage is already done and it seized up.

Time to strip the engine down and look at the barrell and piston to see how they look.

Could be a very expensive case of not RTFM...... Rolling Eyes Embarassed Karma

I have now drained all of the oil out and replaced it with new oil. I went out to try it out again and it was perfect. Then it gradually started to loose its acceleration and then after 10 miles it just cut out while I was riding it.

Any way I got it back home though and Put it on the stand and I realised that there is a rubber pipe just hanging on the side which I have never seen it there before. Could this be another cause of the bike cutting out?

Many thanks Aran.

Think i would go with that too.

Could explain why it stops after 10 miles.... You will have cooked the engine.

Don't look like a oil cooler pipe and too big for a 2T pipe.

THink you need some serious time on the bike this weekend or it will seize up all together.

i say that because 99% of people would realise that they put coolant in the oil tank when they come to put the lid back as the two look nothing alike. i appreciate he is simply looking for help and guidance and cant fault him for that. i just think his bike would stand a better chance of survival if it was maintained by garage or a family member/friend with a bit more know how

Probably would but what then when he gets another bike and that person doesnt live by him anymore? what then? what if he lives in a rural town or coutry side? You need to learn basics yourself, and you learn by mistakes just as much.

Would seem like a sensible thing to do, but you never learn how to do stuff if you do.

But in this case i think the damage is going to be beyond what the OP is capible of, unless they have someone around who knows how to strip a engine down.

Lets not knock the OP, lets try and get them up and running again Karma

My 1st attempt at servicing my Ap 50 resulted in a striped head where the spark plug lives..... Embarassed Cost me a weeks wages to get it picked up and to the dealers to get fixed.
Crying or Very sad
Then £3 for a decent Draper socket set afterwards.
Live and learn

I have a vague feeling that that pipe may be from the catalytic converter? There was a similiar pipe coming out of a mates aerox when he changed the standard pipe.

And if thats your bike in your avatar.. its not an aerox...
