just watching a tv Cop show on Vice. what is so wrong with paying for sex on the street? ALL men pay for sex in one way or another so why not be up front about it?
Also the girls don't get done by the police but the bloke does.
Surely then the bloke should get done at the alter in that case.
Now I haven't used a working girl but I have been married and paid a fortune over the years. Also done the usual bought a drink or a meal and had a leg over afterwards.

How much do these girls charge?
Could a fat ugly bloke like me charge for sex too?

Maybe cus the government doesn't get its cut , except in Germany and Holland and other places where it is legal.

Actually currently in UK its not illegal , its just that various activities around it are illegal ie street solicitation kerb crawling etc.

Some Nu Lab person either Harman or that scuzzy Salford MP Blears talked about changing it to the Swedish system where it is not illegal to be the worker but it is illegal to be the punter.

Its illegal to pay for sex on the street for a VERY GOOD reason.

Street hookers are not safe, have no wash facilities, and are exposed to attack.

In-house, controlled prostitution like in some European countries is a different story, although some might argue that it is also organised by criminals who force many women into sex, especially desperate drug addicts.

Which, IMO, is why regulation and control by government is a far better aproach, even if considered distasteful by some. Fact is, regardless of it being illegal ro not, people will pay for sex. No amount of law will stop that. In fact further prosecution of this scene only drives it deeper underground and makes it far more dangerous.

As Doug Stanhope says, You got a guy who's really desperate for blow job and a hooker who's desperate for 40 bucks...Perfect couple wouldn't you say?

I agree.

But your question was about hookers on the street.

I think the same also applies to drugs. Although I don't and wouldn't like to take drugs myself, I would rather they be sold at Boots in pure form, than cut with ground glass and sold by a violent pusher with Hepatitis B.

Well, if it was regulated then you may find street soliciting would vanish as gys wouldn;t have to kerb crawl to get their leg over.

Theres alot of sense in making alot of things legalised. It would make it a hell of a lot safer. The government would actually have a clue about how many people are doing drugs. And i would be able to go to asda and get a 10 bag for about £2 Very Happy

Downsides means it would be liable to tax. And you would start getting asda's own green Laughing

As im sure she would, hellkat would agree that brothels are a hell of a lot safer for seller and punter.

'Cept when wankers think they are a good place to rob.

Its too late in the evening for me to go into the pros and cons of legalisation of the industry, and to be honest, I am not well acquainted with the things being considered now. Personally I think to go the way of Sweden would be silly, they would be better off going the way of NZ and Australia, but I do not know enough about each country's methods to actually give an informed opinion.

I see an opportunity for a hellkat research trip though Mr. Green Thumbs Up

Having said that, I don't think they will make it totally illegal, as the taxman has recently (in the last two years) been doing more raids - er, sorry, I mean "checks" ... in an initiative to get working girls (predominantly in parlours and saunas) to register as self-employed.

If they were going to send the industry back to the realms of illegality, it would hardly encourage girls to co-operate enough to register and pay their taxes.

The concept of getting even HALF the working girls admitting to even SOME of their tax liabilities would be making the government slaver hungrily at the possibility of the revenue they might acquire - its unlikely they will slam their coffer lids shut now that they have just started to open them (and what a little Pandora's box it is, for those flat-owners who have already agreed to register).
