Hey,

You may remeber that i posted asking for CV help. Well the changes worked and i got an interview witha sofware company as A First line Response Trainee.

I'm just after a few pointers on the interview. I haven't had one for years. Sort of what questions to ask etc

Plus does anyone know what sort of work First line reponse is? I read it as being IT support??

Shaun.

Sounds like helpdesk to me.

Kknowing a little about the company you're going to work for is always handy.

You'll be asked why you want to work there and what you think you'll contribute.

Don't be afraid to sell yourself - its your only chance so don't be backward about it.

alec.co.uk has some good interview pointers including sample questions.

Mark

Well when i swopped jobs a couple of years ago, a couple of interviews i clued myself up on the co's and the roles but never got them.
The job i got i walked in bilind with no idea, other than what i already knew about them and how they worked. Ended up being offered a better job than i applied for. I was open and honest about this when i was asked. Seemed to go down well. Also did not wear a watch, which was commented on, as to why not.
Just said that i felt more relaxed without one on and that i did not want to sit around worrying about how long i had been there.

Just be open and honest with your answers.

One of my questions was how do you handle people who start shouting and screaming when it all goes wrong...
I said well i could get a bit short with them, but would always try to get to the bottom of the problem 1st.
