I'm just curious, I haven't been caught doing anything stupid, don't worry Laughing

If you got 12 points on a provisional bike license, would you have to retake your CBT to ride again?

I believe it would be 6 points until retake if you haven't held a full license for 2 years.

I could be wrong there though.

No, unless expressly instructed to by a judge. You're more likely to get a ban for a month or three.

The six points is only post test, although if yuo already have points on your provisional and you get more on your full license then it's bye, bye license.

Cheers

Grim

I only have a provisional bike license, which means you can get up to 12 points before having to retake it.

Also I've had a car license for more than 2 years so I can have up to 12 points anyway.

(I assume that if I pass my full bike test, the 6 point restriction won't apply because I'm out of the probationary period on my car license?)

Hi

Yep. The 2 years probabtionary period runs from when you got your first full licence. And a provision has 12 points before you loose it.

I suppose being pedantic your full licence has 12 points as well even within the first 2 years. Just reaching 6 points results in the full licence being revoked rather than a band. Suppose it would be possible to get both a ban and your licence revoked in one go.

All the best

Keith
