It gives a bad rep , a couple of days ago there was somebody who hit 180mph+ on a ZX10R on a UK public road, just gives ammo to those who hate us even more.

I've got one video on YT; it's rear facing and shows no indication of bike or person involved.
I will, however, be removing it - it's just not worth the risk.

Helmet cams give good pics and have very little danger of identification, especially if a little editing is done.

But the point is though , if a cop stops you its rather obvious and 2 it also gives ammo to anti bikers.

A helmet cam can be mounted discreetly enough. I place mine lower down on the helmet, and I can tuck it inside the collar/upper part of my jacket when it might not be wise to have it showing. Any wires go under the jacket.

I don't get it. It's been done, and it gives bikers a bad name. It's such a wank thing to do. Rolling Eyes

I've removed mine, not worth the risk now. Even though it was unindentifiable I guess it increases the chance of them upping traffic patrols/scameras.

Because the 'bad name' aspect a lot of riders see as a big positive for riding?

how can they identify from a tank cam? ok they can find who uploaded it, and that the bike belongs to you, but they cant prove it was you riding.

Exactly, exercise your right to silence and let them try and prove it.

they take your pc and recording equipment and impound your bike. Confused I guess they can find your ip or just doing something stupid like start recording when you leave your house or stopping it outside your house.

If a cop stops you it's there for your own safety purposes in case of an accident. Thumbs Up

In which case they confistate the tape and watch it. They will see you were going 120 earlier, and as it was seized from you they know the rider, so you'll still get done.

I love watching the youtube ride video's, when they are on the track and show some real skill and confidence. Just not worth the risk of doing it on a public road. I have losts friends over the years due to speeding and careless drivers/riders. Both being knocked over and being behind the wheel or in control of the bike.
