Just passed my first set of entry exams to become an officer in the army but after giving me the good news I was advised to take a gap year of sorts to get out of my comfort zone and broaden my horizons.
So i put it to you, the fine members of the BCF comunity:

Any one think of a decent paying job one could get for a while to fund this little escapade (would prefer physical/out-doorsy type stuff but the old phrase about beggers and choosers comes to mind)?

Any ideas on what I could do to achieve the afore mentioned broadening?

Get a working holiday visa and go to Australia?

My mate just moved over there permanantly and says there is loads of casual work if you look for it.

Failing that there is always the opal mines.. if you want to get 'outside your comfort zone'.

If you're the sporty type, i used to know a guy who worked for PGL as an instructor in the south of france in the summer, and did snowboarding/bar work in the alps in the winter.

Always sounded like a good laugh and a definate horizon broadener to me.
