I've just signed up (vouluntarily) - as I'm a biker I may as well, if I die I'd rather that my organs were used to help someone!

So, are you one? Why/why not?

I'm not, but I think I may sign up.

I am sort of in the boat that if you are not signed up, then how can you expect to receive an organ should you ever come to need one?

I don't have one, not sure how much use my organs would be, especially my liver... Embarassed

Are there any restrictions on why they couldn't use them? I know there are rules with giving blood. For example I smoke, (lungs probably wouldn't be much use either... Rolling Eyes )

Not really any restrictions but they may have a look and decide that they can not use them for any reason or there is no match you could always donate for research

As for giving blood a long as you are the right hight and weight ie over 7.5 st you should be ok but they will check first

I am awaiting a reply from the blood donor service regarding whether I can give blood, so I just sit here & wait for an e-mail from them. As for organ donation, my kids & parents know my wishes on that so when they are contacted regarding my death they will make the right choice.

<dons fireproof undies>

Considering that I think that the planet is overpopulated and the herd could use some thinning, it would be hypocritical of me to say yes, I'd be an organ donor. I still don't care what happens to my body once I've finished with it, though.

My organs will be fucked anyway if i crash, all mushed up and runny, my kidneys will be fucked by 30 and my liver will get a hammering as i get older. Shit excuses i know but seeing as this world is full of sick fucks who sit in front of their pc's and watch beheadinds or snuff films i dont want to give them my organs as they will either wank or take pleasure in seing my corpse on you tube or the sick sites half lyfe has given out in found on the net section.

Like Lone said, I really don't mean to sound selfish but I want to enjoy this 1 life we get, If I worry about the condition of my body that will never happen but if at one point I decide that I've had my fun and I feel it's beneficial to everyone involved I would sign up. Thumbs Up

I carry a donor card & have given blood for years, I have the rare blood group (for jaundiced babies, etc), so feel like I'm doing my bit....

If anything's worth using after I've finished with it, good luck to 'em!

You are aware that they never harvest donor organs from "dead" bodies?

You don't have to worry about the condition of your body. They'll test everything first and just take what they can use. I certainly don't look after myself, but I'm fairly sure at least some part of me will be useful when I die...
