Okay, I've got a standard Sky box in my living room that I watch freeview channels on - no subscription. And I want exactly the same in my bedroom too. Shouldn't be too difficult should it!? Confused

So, I've bought a quad LNB that lets me fit up to 4 boxes on the one satellite dish. I'm expecting the cable to arrive shortly so I can wire from the dish, though the attic into my bedroom. All that's left is to get a Sky box...

I've been in touch with Sky 4 times now asking what the price would be of a standard box to watch only freeview channels on - no one knows!! Each time I get given different numbers to ring but no one can ever actually tell me a price. I'm getting fed up... and will probably buy a 2nd hand box on Ebay instead. However I'm now finding if I do this I might still have to buy a viewing card from Sky and am dreading having to enquire all about this too!! Rolling Eyes

There, a problem shared is a problem halved and all that!! Evil or Very Mad Razz

Prob find it so hard as the standard issue equiptment seems to be Sky plus now, ask for a price for that.

In fact you should have checked that out first as they would have changed your dish and lnb and rewired for your second room.

I have seen the sky plus boxes free with subscritions to even the lowest tier Thumbs Up

Cards are registered to boxes.

If you get the card off loz you'll need the details she registered it with.

I've had this issue with a freesat card before.

Yeah but one thing I have always stood by is refusing to pay subscription fees to Sky! I currently can't get digital freeview until 2011 so Sky it has to be.

As an aside, I'd be happy to pay Sky to see individual channels but I'd only really want premiership matches, they know this and make you pay a fortune in subscriptions to get them... Rolling Eyes

Thumbs Up

Doh!

But what can I do with these details she registered it with - change them with Sky or something? Question

Well I had a card off a friend once, when they moved back to wales from london... The only issue I had was I got BBC London instead of Wales. Didn't use the same equipment :S

This one is reg'd to my old address, and wasn't a problem when I moved, I didn't have to give any details to sky, only my name address and card number Laughing

Regardless.. if it doesn't work, Nothing has been lost eh?

It will have been in the same box. If you send your name and address the card was registered at there should be no problems registering it to the new box.
