Madass 125 new runs well then gets to 90 km an hour runs 1 km then looses power and speed drops to 70 to 60 kms an hour / stop the bike then go again and runs fine but as soon as gets to or close to 85 / 90 kms an hour same problem. This bike has been like it since new and has had 5 trips to the dealer for no result. I cannot get them to test ride it even. I have replaced the spark plug myself / the choke is not on. Any thoughts or has someone had the same problem?

90kmh on a Madass? Thats lunacy - its a pimped up pushbike!

I'm thinking rev limiter or overheating. Would need a second opinion...

Found this from a google

Quote:
Took one for a test drive today. It kept up with most traffic along Parramatta Rd in Sydney. Sat on about 75km/hr comfortably,I think could cruise at about 80+ if need be, but don\´t know how long it could sustain it. I\´m thinking of buying and riding back to the Central Coast, about a 100km trip. I think it\´ll handle it, but I\´m prepared to give it a rest if it cries too much.

Top speed: 90.0 km/h (55.9 mph)

Maybe its starting to seize up at them speeds, from the look of it, its not designed to sustain such speeds for any length of time.

Could be lack of fuel, check the float height.
If its set to high it will cut the fuel off, if its set to low you will see fuel pissing out of the float bowl over-flow as its not cutting the fuel supply as its supposed to do.
Just an idea as i have had similar symptoms on other bikes.

I had a madass but only the 50cc one and I had exactly the same problem and like with yours, nothing could ever really be found wrong with it. I took it back many times and nothing was ever really done either. I changed my engine for a 110cc type from one of them X-sport mini motocross bikes. After that it was always fine. I didn't change the CDI unit or anything like that (like advised) so it can't be that because it was fine once i changed the engine, I think it's the shit airfilter box. I'f I was you I would get a angled inlet manifold and then a K&N style airfilter so it can breath better, you'll probably have to mess around with the jetting too, might give you a touch more power also. You can get the said parts for not very much at www.monkeybike.co.uk
If the air box on the 125 is the same as the 50, then the hole it took air in from was only a little bigger than a penny!

The above is just my opinion on the matter, if its a 125, it should do 60mph, my 110 would do 55 and a little over 60 down a big ass hill.

There's a good german madass forum, if you search for it through google you can translate it too.

Thankyou all I will focus initially on insufficent fuel(float/jets) back with dealer Friday and then I will try a real mechanic. Should have bought my scooter from a motorbike dealer not a "good looking shopfront" Laughing
