Stripping forks and calipers on NC29 ?

I have found a local company who will shotblast and powder coat my fork bottoms and calipers for £50 how easy is it for my to remove & strip the forks and calipers and re-assemble afterwards ?

PS I have never worked on a bike before in my life :-0

stripping normal forks/calipers is pretty straight forward although you sometimes hit problems undoing the bottom bolt on the forks.

i dont know the bike but if it had USD forks then it would be quite a bit harder to strip.

if you dont have some sort of service manual then id get one before you attempt anything

hi mate my forks are just the normal ones not USD I have a haynes manual and abba stand so I think I will give it a go over the next few weeks :-0 would I need aqny specialist tools ?

no special tools. just sockets, allen keys etc. follow the manual exactly for your first time and you should be fine.

maybe an impact driver for the bottom bolt i mentioned but youll know when you get to it if its gonna be a bitch Thumbs Up
