Both of benjami's policies are on a CBT by the way.

On a full licence at 17, it cost me £350 TPFT for a 1989 Suzuki GN250, and £492 TPO for a 1991 Yamaha XJ600.

Im 18 and got a quote on a 2001 CBR600 F1 for £1200 TPFT with H&R.

I did my quotes through gocompare.com and got lots of good results, usually the best coming back from Motorcycle direct or, in the case of the CBR, H&R.

depending on bike/scooter.

1st thing that will help is Garage as this cuts any policy by 1/3. Scooter id imagine garaged would be looking at £200-£250 then something no-sports GS/CB/XJ/ER would probably be £500 ish and a SV would be £600.

but look in the newbie forum and use the stickies.

A claimed 45 bhp i believe. Relistically around 38 maybe? It was more for the looks, noise and handling. Was fast enough for a first bike too Thumbs Up

That was before my ban. I think i then got insured for £700 TPO on the CBR with my first ban at 18 and 1 years NCB
