Points and the totting up system.

I was just wondering if you where to get banned for amassing more than 12 points on your licence (under the 'totting up' procedure), when you eventually get your licence back do the points remain or do you get a fresh start?

The points should be scratched and replaced with a nice TT99 conviction complete with length of ban and amount of fine

I suppose mr insurance thinks worse of a TT99 than he does of the points then!

Well there arent many situations whereby you can have 12 points on your licence so a TT99 looks worse than having 9 points but then it will because you have another offence.

It's not in the same league as say a DR10 or DD10 (drink driving and dangerous driving) but you will still get a hefty premium increase
