i know that on an rs125, you have rebuilds every so many thousand miles.

Do you have rebuilds on 2 stroke scooter engines ?

Yeah still need the odd rebuild and decent maintenance. Perhaps not as much so as with the RS as its not as highly strung or performance focused.

the high level of tuning on bikes like the rs and the cagiva mito is the main reason for the frequent rebuilds, not all 2 strokes need them nearly as often so i would imagine you would be fine with a scooter. or at least you wouldnt need one for a much wider interval

I'd take a guess at 10 -12,000 miles for a top ender. Its dead easy though, because the heads are easy to remove, and there is no cam timing to do.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I think they say about 10-15k for a top end on a std Vespa, Not sure if an auto would be the same.
A guy at work didn't do his RXS100 until about 40k!
My Vespa is on 15k now, but I'm gonna chance it for a bit longer.
