seeing as everyone is having a financial bitch, ill have one

ive noticed the 'im poor and i hate it' threads knocking about, so heres my tale of woe that is ongoing...

started a paid apprenticeship in marine engineering...
started off on £154 per week, which is cool for going to college i suppose...

so then the fun starts! pension and REGULAR tax have me down to £138 a week...

''hmm, fair enough'' i said...

more time passes...

i get a letter from the tax man saying ''hi, were going to start charging you 22% tax from now, bye''

so i was like FUCK!!! so that brings me down to £105 a week to go to college... still not bad...

then i take time off sick while my wrist recovers from the operation...
few weeks down the line i get this...

''hi, your now on statutory sick pay, £72 a week, bye''

FUCK THAT SHIT!!!
thats without tax or pension or anything!

so my now weekly income is £52... oh the joy.

ive phoned, bitched and moaned on the phone about this, turns out they changed my tax code to a higher one because they ballsed my details up...
then said
''we cant do it over the phone''
''why not?''
''we need a letter from you''
''why? im right here''
''you just do, bye''

oh well, nice rebate coming my way soon...

EDIT: on top of the above, ive got £88 per month coming out thanks to insurance and phone!

thats £120 for me PER MONTH!!! thats like just barely covering fuel costs!

they can do it over the phone they are lying, if all else fails have a ride down to pentland house its near Indian Queens and have a word with them , should be added to your next PAYE cheque.

EDIT Cornwall/Devon area is incredibly slow, took about a year to get my tax refund back.
