I put my partners bike on its side a short while back and have only just started to make any "progress" and I use this term lightly as all I have really done is removed the fairing and exhaust.

This is only really the start, I have been able to get hold of a full fairing in green which I will be using to relace the right handside and the left is just going to be touched up and re-stickered.

Here are a couple pictures of the damage, these were taken just after it was done.

This is the right side after it was removed, I wont be fixing this I dont think, although I may keep it for track days.

This panel had been fixed before though by a previous owner, you can see that it has been "welded" previously on this picture.

This is what she looked like after I removed the fairing.

I know its not as impressive as some of the show and tell, but I figured I would show my small efforts anyway.... This is going to take me a while to get done as funds are short due to working for a shite company... but hey ho.

I will put more up when I have gt some more to add.

That halfords set is brilliant! Most of my tools are halfords now, only a few snap on/mac tools now.

Ditched your gf's bike, bet she was pissed!

long story short, I was leaning into a round a bout and heard the rear wheel spin up... i fell off an the bike finished up 50 yards up the road.

I checked the road and it looked like a small diesel patch that had been covered with some grit and as a result, i ended up with a cracked rib... and yes it did hurt. Smile

ZX6R's seem to disintegrate in even the slowest spills.

How my mates ended up after being thrown down at 20 mph.

Complete left side and nose destroyed.

I concur - look at my thread on the rebuild of my ZX6R which has been down the road at 10mph and the result is that i'm 1000 quid out of pocket owing to the repairs and respray.

A small development has seen a full set of "race" fairings arrive through my door today. The side panels are going on the blue one and unless I get no sex for several years the rear is going onto my red one.

The nose cone will be kept for a future track day machine that I will get at some point this year I'm sure.

https://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e232/MrPies/31012008038.jpg

They have holes for crash bungs already which is handy so I will be using both sides, also my missushas decided that she wants the bike all one colour.... which means that I need to remove everything and get it sorted for painting.

Anyone know of some good spray shops within the Cambridge area?
