 |

Hi guys, now I know its not bike related, but could do with some advice. At 7.15 on wednesday the 23rd January, I was queing at a BP connect station in dartford. A builders flatbed transit reversed into me whilst i had my handbrake on. (was a company transit not just an everyday builder). I get his details, and when 9.00 comes I phone my insurance, Im only TPFT but have legal cover so they start sorting it out. I can't drive my car as ther is no headlight or indicator, and i kinda need my license! Thursday comes, I cant get into work, and not much has happened, I speak to someone at the company and he tells me he had reported the incident to his insurance (my insurance say otherwise). Friday comes, same story. I ring up the companies insurance and notify them of the incident myself and they say they will talk to their client and get back to me, but that it hadn't been reported. I speak to a different fellow at the company and he says he doesn't want to go through the insurance, he wants to give me cash, fix it this weekend and give me the money. Now if he decides not to pay up Im fucked as im only TPFT, and Im still left without a car untill mines fixed. But also I cant get a courtesy car untill the incident is reported by him which cant be untill at least monday now. Also I cant ride my bike as its having surgery atm. |

But continue persuing the insurance claim until the car is fixed, paid for and you are 100% satisfactory, if you call the claim off now he might not pay up...
you should call up the head office of the company whos van driver reversed into you and make sure they are aware..... you got to cover yourself somehow, it wasn't your fault so no reason for you to have to pay out anything! ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

Yea, got names of witnesses, and the petrol station are keeping the footage back for 30 days (I think thats standard practice anyway). I told all this to my insurance, hopefully they will just tell it as it happened and not twist the story, but its up to them to prove otherwise, which would be very very hard, when you consider the cctv, the witnesses and the fact that they haven't reported it yet
A couple of years ago my mk1 fiesta got smashed to absolute fuck all, I mean really really really bad (never seen a crash anywhere near as bad, and I used to work at a breakers). not too much damage to the merc that hit it considering. It turned out the owners nephew took it out for a little drive off his nut on his 18th, so I never got paid out. AND I WAS PARKED UP! life sucks some times |
