Google Maps' Hilarious new public transport feature

I asked it, out of interest, to tell me how to get from my home town to Bolton, near Manchester.

Here's what it said:

It's suggesting that I walk 10 miles to a pub in Whalley of all places, catch a bus from there to Preston, then from Preston to Manchester, then from Manchester to Bolton.

So nearly a 5 hour journey.

Now what I would actually do, is simply take a bus from Great Harwood to Blackburn, and then a train from Blackburn. Maybe an hour in total.

What the hell are the people who write these things smoking?

They can only work with the data they've got for buses and trains.

If a bus company won't supply them with timetable and route data, then how can they include it in the calculations?

I seem to remember when Google maps was first released if you told it to start your journey in New York and finish in Paris it would tell you to swim across the Atlantic Ocean.

No all that has happened is that Google being a big powerful corporation that pays immense amounts of bribes to MPs , is entitled to future policy documents.

And therefore google have boobed about what public transport will be avalible in the near future ,

Manchester by 2010 will have a congestion charge, petrol will have VAT fuel duty and green fuel duty tax and climate change tax, polluters tax and will cost £5000000 a litre , bus fares will costs £25000, and the smallest denomination coin will be £1000 and thats something that kiddies at school toss away.

ALL roads will be closed and only MPs and their families / Policewill be allowed to use them , descent will be met with anti terrorist laws which allows police the right to execute people who they consider to be terrorists,

At work will be instituted the daily 2 minutes of hate, tax will be 200% of your wages , and will be taken in labour and forced blood sales.
