Bought a KBC TK-8 lid off ebay for £52, good price for a well finnished lid but so far the problem i have with it is the visor that just wont sit on the rubber seal correctly, Has anyone come across this?
I'm worried about water leaking in from the top, and wind noise being created from the lack of sealing on the bottom.
Is there anyway i could get it to seal better?
Thanks for all comments and suggestions left. ____________________ Haz ER-5, innit! |

I don't suppose theres a way of adjusting the base plates on the visor? If you unscrew the base plates, it allows the visor retaining mechanism assembly to rotate. That will hopefully give better clearance so that its sits flush against the rubber seal. I know with my arai and shoei, i've done it and it stops the wind noise - never let it water.
Having said that www.webbikeworld.com doesn't rate KBC's finish or fit highly either.
If i had a choice between KBC and HJC on that budget, i'd get HJC any day! Had an AR1 which was their race replica and hated it! - heavy, visor mechanism was simple but noisy - I resorted to wearing my HJC which was at least 2 years old at that point!
Well you learn a lesson then.
I hope this attachment makes more sense. ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

Bit silly, they are £60 new and atleast you know they arent dodgy or have been dropped or similar.
If it was me i would have gone for:
https://www.mandp.co.uk/home.aspx?cmd=showFile&arg=FREE_HELMET_SHELF
only a £40 lid but supposed to be pretty decent, get a free helmet shelf too! ____________________
