Bacically my older brother has recently got a new job at triumph, so his old cbr is now going to be passed on to our oldest brother who is getting his bike licence soon, and he is now riding his swanky new 675!!

So far we have ordered:
black levers
full set of fairings- black
front wheel bearings

We are going to powder coat the fork legs ,top yoke, and wheels, give the bike a paint job - not sure what one yet. (any thoughts) order a tail tidy, undertray and chain and sprocket kit. mabye a huger and chain guard too?

The idea is that as my brother is working up at triumph during the week i do the work on the bike and he just pay's for the parts, lol. any reccommendations as to what else would improve the bike welcome!

should all be done by end of feb!

juat a few photos from degreasing the engine today, going to strip the bike down properly tomorrow and clean it some more!!

you reckon a tail tidy/pod will fit? , under the bumps on the left and right on the tail are the CDI , indicator , reg/rec relays, heh your CBR looks like mine though cept mine doesn't have stainless pipes yet.

i still really like the shape of the bike, think its a timeless look. not sure will have to look what is out there as a way of the tail tidy/undertray.

Just realised that we need to get a new camchain tensioner, and left tanks surround and clock shroud! and fairing bolt set

edit: gunna polish up those down pipes tomorrow so should have some shiny pictures for you all.

A tail tidy won't fit the CBR's... the whole undertray and plate hanger etc is one piece.. your only real option is to buy a proper plastic undertray to replace the lot. But that plastic section holds pretty much everything under the subframe.. its the battery tray, CDI tray, holds the reg/rec etc as Itchy says.

What I done with mine is hacksaw the numberplate hanging bit down so it was only a few mm's from the tail, then remount the number plate higher up...... itt's the only option without going into a lot of work.

Upgrade suspension stuff if you want to get technical, otherwise leave it alone.

By far the most enjoyable CBR600 to ride on the road imho, yes I've ridden more than one type of CBR for those who are interested.

One thing I've noticed that REALLY needs doing it the chain needs a damn good clean, scrub down to get the rust off and a good lubing.

Humbrol Enamel paint works a treat mate, get it from any decent modelling store for RC planes etc...

just a little update , new fairings arrived Thumbs Up very pleased with them. Paid £140 for a full set, plus standard exhaust, standard indicators front fender and rear fairing, and delivered!!!! pure bargain.

Anyway i polished them and fitted the screen and light, just waiting on a black fairing bolt kit to arrive to fit them up. also i fitted matt black levers too.

My brother is down at the weekend so i will get him to buy some oil and plugs and the chain kit which he hasn't ordered yet!

https://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y124/GuyMiller/DSC00883.jpg

will be painting the forks and top yoke and wheels when we get our new garage sorted, should be a week or two.

Thanks Smile

He'll post when he's done some more work.
