Right chaps,

I've booked a Travelodge room in my name, not a problem. However, it's for two people and the person staying there doesn't want to have to use her own name, my question is will she have to show ID at check-in or can she just give any old name?

Cheers.

Have only had to provide one name even when two people are staying at travelodges. Generally the person whose name is given is the one who has paid and booked.

Never been asked for ID before.

However if it's a ladyfriend whose alias is "Madame cockpleaserUK" expect to see a few raised eyebrows at the reception desk.

when i booked in to a travelodge, I dont think i showed ID other than maybe a bank card, and if I did it was just to check that it was me who had booked the room

they wouldnt care who else happened to be staying with me, so there would be no need for them to know the name of my guest

why would you want to stay in such places anyway? ,

I bet if you bought a CSI type lamp , you'd probably see all sorts of dodgy stains all over the place.

I think that's exactly the reason they want to stay in such a place Wink

Quite the opposite. Your bank / credit card is a form of ID. If you pay by cash they do ask for extra ID.

It's been like that for a while. I stay in Travelodges and Premier Inns a bit too often for my liking. Thumbs Up

Makes sense, after all if you trash the place they need to know where to look for you.

But I can't see them asking for ID for your guest.

Actually, the last time I stayed in a Travellodge, the boss booked two seperate rooms and only had to show the ID for hers.

Yep. I've kipped on sofas/floors in Travelodge rooms mates have booked plenty of times. They only need the one ID. In fact five of us crashed in one double room once!!
