Is this game popular in U.K.? Do you play this game in pubs? Have you ever tried this?
I play 10pin bowling so I'm interested in 9pins.

9 pin is played a lot in pubs, in pub teams. It's played during the winter months along with darts to sustain pubs during the winter lull.

There's lots of leagues, including womens' leagues, if you're interested I imagine the best way would be to find a pub which has an alley, and get acquainted with the team!

I think there's definitely either a north / south divide or a countryside / city divide as I had never known of any pubs to have skittle alleys in them before.

And now I'm in Winchester, every second pub seems to have one.
Maybe someone else knows a bit more about it?

Very true, all the pub teams I know are in Somerset, and there's about 20 to a league and at least 2 leagues. Whereas I haven't seen or heard a peep since I moved to Stoke.

Yeah Skittles is quite a Westcountry "sport", I played for a pub team back in Somerset, is good fun.

At the end of the day it's a less refined form of 10 pin bowling, just with a lot more alcohol. Very Happy
