what? , you don;t use the look for a fit looking girlie and ask her how to do it and use it as an excuse to get your leg over ? ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. My bf works as a personal trainer and has done strength and conditioning as well as coaching and playing for the uni football team. He's pretty good at his stuff, so I shall ask him if there are any books he'd recommend. One I know he's suggested to people in the past is Brawn, by Stuart McRobert. I know it looks like a 'body building' book, but the advice in it is apparently excellent (bf has never been into bodybuilding for the sake of it, more about functionality and being fitter)

Ross Enamits books are very good. He's more into practical strength over body building. His books are worth the £15 or so he charges.

I recommend this book: Strength Training Anatomy (Paperback) by Frederic Delavier
It shows you which muscles are worked by which exercise with nice detailed pictures and also explains how to do the exercises.
The link has a "search inside" feature so you can read a couple of sample pages and get an idea of what the book is like.
I personally found it really good. |
