So pranged my 125 earlier today, slid across some slick tarmac. No real damage to me or the bike, few little scrapes.

But annoyingly, the needle seems to have fallen off the little pin in the tacho. I rode home, took the instrument panel to bits and got the tacho out, but thats as far as i can get. I cant get the "glass" off the unit. Its not moulded together, it seems like it clicks in, but theres no way to unscrew it or unclick it.

Does anyone know how i can get the lens of the front? Preferably without referring to my only other option - hacksaw.

And while im here, the bulb is gone, does anyone know what type it is?

Unfortunately it's a sealed unit. If I was you I would just very very carefully try to get it off with a flat bladed screw driver and then glue it back on.
Worst case scenario, the new unit was about £80 when I got one.

Guess its plan B then. For the sake of putting the tacho needle back on the little spindle, i think i will probably just saw into it a bit and try and ply it off from there. If worst comes to worst i might saw the whole lot off, sort it then glue it back on. Thanks for your help.

Go for the glue. When I got my YBR the speedo window just came off, and it had been misting up previously, so obviously not a good job there.

I just glued it back on with some decent rubber based glue and it has been clear and watertight ever since.....
