Reading through my local adscene a moment ago, I noticed a new youth club for young motorcyclists in Sturry and Hersden, with a free cbt, and your provisional license for half price, for year 11 students.

The website doesn't appear to be up yet, but its a great idea IMO. Even if these kids don't go on to like it and bike, they will at least have some idea of what it is like.

I'm also glad that the council loves the idea, and that the safety nazi's aren't going to bitch and whine about health and safety.

Could be a nice cheap way to get onto two wheels.

Yeah i suppose its definately good in that respect, but in another, Ive always been a pretty firm believer that a 50 ped aint really quick enough on the roads to be relatively safe in traffic (whereas a 4t 125 has enough grunt to pull away pretty quick and reach proper speeds easily - in a legal respect ie. you arent derestricting a ped so it does 50/60mph and killing the poor thing) and I dont think our roads need swamping with tons of 16 year old (the ones that arent safe...Im well aware there are many 16 year olds out there who are safe/not complete little shits Wink ) ped riders any more than they are already *shrugs*

But I suppose its better than them going off and stealing a bike and fielding it for kicks Thumbs Up

Though it may also convince them that they definately do wanna steal a bike a field it for kicks Wink Razz

Surely its better for them to be on a ped than in a car.

They can do less damage, and not go as fast.
