Do I need to tell my insurance company that the bike's been nicked? Even though it was third party only? I don't want it to go on my record and make my insurance higher next year.

If you dont tell them, it could invalidate this insurance (for instance if you only told them you'd changed the bike on this policy if/when you get a new bike) or your next insurance - actually...it might not, because your theft, if not claimed for, doesnt affect your insurance - except for the fact that you obviously live in a "higher-risk" area now...but this should have been reflected in your policy's price to begin with, so they can go fvck themselves!

Sorry. In a nutshell - I have a feeling there may be small print somewhere saying that if you dont tell them you've had a theft, it'll invalidate everything matey.

It sucks but *shrugs*

Just rang up to tell them - apparently because I'm not actually claiming, it 'shouldn't' affect my insurance at renewal time.

Thats exactly what they told me on my car, once when some scrote keyed it (Polished out) and once when i hit something left in the road (new bottom bumper ended up being less than excess), come renewal time though £250 hike in my premium as i have made two "non fault claims" obviously i didnt renew with them, Lesson learnt, insurers are leeches and they just cant wait for a chance to bend you over and make you take it Thumbs Up

Couldnt agree more. They'll make you bite the pillow, then think "Hmm...a pillow might be too nice. Bite this chunk of masonry instead, while I ram this..-" you get the idea Wink

If your insurance is TPO which it sounds like it is by your post, then you don't need to tell them as you can't claim for it anyway.

If you had TPF&T then you would need to inform them.

You can drive the fking thing onto a bliddy bonfire and sell the charred remains to charity if you like. AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT MAKE A CLAIM ON THE POLICY.

FFS

Do you think they can load anyone just cause they've had a history of theft?
Shocked

FFS do not tell them someone stole the words out your mouth too.

Pass me that Splif now please.

As walloper suggests, only if you're making a claim.

Otherwise you do not need to tell them.
