my bike has polished bits on it fromone of the previous owners but it has not been looked after enough and so now looks naff. therefore my best solution is to red-do it. busters in swansea do a few kits and 2 around £20 - so which is best for this money, mr fastner or mrs mop kits? or are there any others which are better still for similar monies?

Highly recommended by me, for what that's worth?

Never used these but a good range of items.

I just use a dremel with a polishing head... can pick up a cheap dremel for about 20 quid. Then a can of brasso for under 2 quid...
