I sold my lid today, it was 125 quid knocked down to 70 I think when I got it, only had a few months use, I got 40 quid for it today.

See ya lid.

It was the one below in the hobbit picture.

You do realise that selling a second hand bike helmet mortally wounds at least a dozen lovely cute kittens?

https://www.birman.org/pictures/noekula-kittens.jpg
... Will someone please think of the kittens!!!!

I would never consider selling a second hand helmet TBH, I have around 3 old ones on top of wardrobes or being used by pillions.

If you cant afford a New cheap how can you afford petrol and insurance?

That's how I afford petrol and insurance Wink.
The real question should be, how do I live with my conscience, knowing about all the kittens!! Razz

I would much rather buy a second hand lid that fits me well (generally £150+ for the brands that fit me new) than a cheap helemt that might do serious damage to my head as it bounces about inside.

I wonder how many 'new' helmets have actually already been tried on by other people, chucked about, manhandled in the factory?
If the paintwork is good and it's in date then I'm satisfied it's likely to be in decent condition.
My head was ok aftering rolling on the ground at high speed from my last racing accident. That was a £35 second hand lid. Bet it would have been much worse if I'd have had a cheap new lid on. (The adrenaline, morphine and ketamine may have helped on not having a headache, though Razz ).

I wouldn't sell my own helmets personally, but then they're usually crashed in, scuffed etc.

Well the lad was a mate of a mate, he had just bought a scooter off my mate, and needed a lid to ride it home.

I have never had to use it for its purpose, it has been dropped from the grand old height of about 4 inches once.

The lid was mint and for 40 quid was worth it to him, to go home wearing his own lid rather than a borrowed one.

I cant really see what you mean regards a problem selling a lid, I wouldn't buy a second hand one but I don't have a problem selling one.

If it had been abused I wouldn't have sold it in case anything happened and it was below standard.

I hope he had a licence, tax, insurance and MOT, because if not that is equal to burning 12.567 tonnes of kittens on a bonfire whilst dancing around it naked, masturbating.

Mr. Green at the kitten thing.

I have no idea about his legalities, I sold him a lid, not insurance, tax or a bike.

Hahah Razz

I would also like to differentiate here between cheap and bad-fitting lid...

I dont regard it as a problem, i mean you say its not been wrecked, just maybe some minor dents, just personally its one of the few things i would have qualms about selling, thats the kind of thing i would either keep or give away provided either it was in good condition or the person knew about every knock and drop i knew about... and was happy to chance it, then thats their lookout.

I suppose because i would never buy a second hand lid the concept of selling one seems strange to me, but i guess ped boys have to start somewhere...

Cos its about a lid, which is used for biking.

And I felt like typing it, you know when someone creates a thread saying, I have a new lid?

Well its like that, only in reverse.

And people have read it, and some have commented, so it was obviously worth putting down, or it would have no comments.

Or a lot of comments saying.......why does this warrant a thread?

Granted it may not be the most interesting thread.

But I didn't really need to tell you that as you can see it.

Which begs the question, why did your post warrant an answer?

Pics? I have to suffer vids. I learn't from the first not to click the link. Sick

And to stay on topic and not get a redundant or dis-agree or boring; I couldn't sell a lid, or buy a second hand one. Nothing wrong with it, but it's all in my head.

Because it was a valid question.

I think this has to be one of the most pointless threads on BCF ever. And that takes some doing.

I took a shit today.

It was a very good shit, firm and solid in consistency and light brown in colour. It took several flushes to disperse it, as it was over six feet long.

Can you tell I'm bored?

I need a new lid by the way. Think I want a flip front one next (need a bike first though...)
