Sorry I've another newbie question Embarassed

I'm going to get a disc lock for my Honda CG125. What's the best disc lock I can get?

This one (Abus Extreme Disc Lock) looks good to me or would this one be better?

Thanks in advance Very Happy

just make sure it fits first, not sure on a cg, but on my cbr an oxford 'univerisal' stinger disc lock the pin was too thick for the disc

I have an Xena XN14 on my CG125. Fits the front disc. I carry it locked to one of the bungee points on the bike when riding.

Ride Triangle Guide

Gives a good overall look at what they think and balance up value for money against security. If i am not sure i just check it out on there. Its by no means the absolute but useful for a rough guide.

Thanks everyone Very Happy

I think I'll get the "Oxford Nemisis disk lock" I know it's probably not as good as the"Oxford Titan Disk lock " style of lock but at least I don't have to worry about it not fitting on my bike Very Happy

Thanks again everyone Thumbs Up

All the disc locks in the world wont help against the old picking it up into the back of a van technique though. Need something immoveable to chain it to.

(okay ALL the disc locks in the world would stop them... thats alot of metal to lift.. but you get the idea)

That's funny I was just going to put up a post saying that I changed my mind and I am going to go for either this one (Motrax Vishas) www.sounddistribution.co.uk/products.asp?recnumber=134 or this one (Oxford Omega) www.sounddistribution.co.uk/products.asp?recnumber=3756. Which one is better? I would say the Motrax is better but I think the Oxford Omega has a larger pin so what should I get?

EDIT: RIDE magazine said "It took almost three minutes worth of level three attack to get it off the bike" does this seem a little quick? What is a level three attack?

Hey,

As has been said avoid oxford stuff, it really is useless. My last oxford disc lock fell to pieces when i came to unlock it and jammed on my bike. I ened up borrowing a screw driver and prizing it open. It did not bend but rather snapped in two! all within a few seconds.

Go for the zena alarm disc lock, thats what ive been looking into and they look good!

Shaun.

I had one on the front wheel of the trike. I forgot it was there and rocked it backwards and forwards thinking the front brqake had jammed on.

https://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p157/Kal_hybrid/Bike/Gear/Titan/100_0749.jpg

Oxford Customer Serivces claimed that the Trike was too heavy for the lock.

https://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p157/Kal_hybrid/Bike/Gear/Titan/100_0748.jpg

The problem I have with this is two fold.

First - There is no weight limit given on the packaging and besides the Trike is not as heavy as the Nightrod I saw it on a couple of weeks later.

Second - The heavier a bike is the more effective a disc lock is - lightweight bikes can just be picked up and carried off. My CG was carried off by the local ASBO bait where we used to live.
