Fibreglass kits are your friend , When ever i need to replace the little nobbly bits that locate my fairings together i use some P38 or P40 filler/fibreglass to make a very rough shape of the peg...
then i sand it and shape it and make sure its under sized compared to an orignal...
Then i araldite the little peg i have made onto the Fairing in position(making sure i removed any remains of the orignal nobbly thing
Then use a fibreglass kit to shape over and round the peg that has been stucj to the fairing.. making sure you get a good amount of the fibreglass from the peg making contact with the fairing panel.. so it has a secure base doesnt matter if it looks messy at this point as long as it is going to be secure.
Make sure this is thorughly dry then get some sand paper... and sand the peg/nobbly bit to shape and size so it is like a factory moulded piece spray paint the area you have worked on a color that matches roughly with inner fairings and voilla
When i next do this i will take some photos to explain it
Another alternative method to use is to buy some cheap nasty fairings off ebay that have the pegs for your fairing... cut them off the cheap fairings you have purchased and use a soldering iron to melt them onto your fairings.. this method works but i find it doesnt last anywhere near as long as the method above |

someone over on the FZR archives used a bit of playdough and made a mold to poor some plastic weld or something very similar to re create a lug and filed it smooth.
EDIT, think it was on a VFR not a FZR on a differnet forum. ____________________ Haz ER-5, innit! |
