Side stand.
Make sure it parks or it keeps the interlock switch active. And kills the engine.
If it has one.... Embarassed

if it still kills the engine with the stand up its more than likely the little switch needs a clean.

First gear with the clutch in? Or when you let the clutch out? If it is with the clutch in it will most likely be the side stand switch as the others said.

Thanks guys, still waiting for an owners manual. It does die with the clutch in so it is likely the side stand switch. Is it easily accessible?

There should be a little arm or nub on your side stand which pushes in a small black button switch when it's folded up. The button will be attached to a small black box with two wires coming out of it. An owner's manual might not have much detail on this, the best case scenario being a small box in the troubleshooting on the back pages.
If it's not immediately obvious, it'll probably be behind the side stand.
