It’s a load of shit, I’ve been in the Drum & Bass scene since I was 14, Grooverider has given the scene a hell of a lot. Big parties, raves that are unforgettable, I don’t care if you don’t like D&B, he’s a veteran in the game and true to the cause. The UK music scene is grateful of this guy.

Arabs in general have given us religious hatred, un-equal human rights and shit food. To name but a few things.

Fuck em

Here's how it works:

Abdul the security man: "Ahh, here is the big shot DJ, let me see what I can find.".

"Mr. Grooverider, this is a most terrible thing, look at what I have found in your baggage. I am afraid I will have no option other than to lock you in jail for four years. No I must insist on seeing your passport.".

Hands over passport, Abdul leafs through it, fails to find £50 note.

"This is not good enough, are you sure you have no other paperwork you would like to be showing me? I am a hard working person with many children to feed."

Grooverider: "Huh? What?"

Abdul: "Yes, on what they pay me it is a wonder I am able to put food on the table. Now, you are sure there is no other paperwork you wish to give me?"

Grooverider: "Well, no."

Abdul: "In that case, straight to jail for you." . Wanders off to find someone who can take a hint if he is slapped across the face with it.

I doubt you could bribe them in Dubai, they get rewarded for discovering contraband. Customs always seems pretty tight even in third world countries.

The whole arab culture works on bungs. That's essentially what the 'rewards' are because they know full well that nothing would get done otherwise. I don't know about Dubai specifically but that's how any other Arab country I have heard of works.

I bet of you gave them a sum of money greater than the reward, you would have no problem. That or a sum of money less than the reward but factoring in the amount of effort it would involve to claim said reward (minus the supervisors kickback).

It's just a different way of working. Nothing gets done without bunging the right people.

99% of the eastern world still work on bribes when it comes to official work, Russia for example has some of the strictest industrial safety laws in the world in fact they done it that way so its too hard and silly to get up to the standards so you have to offer a bribe, remeber reading a post on the av forum were two bikers were told by the police that if they did,nt give them euros they were going to shoot them. Same goes for Thailand, some of the most corrupt police in the world, you can pay your way out of a murder charge.....though that doesnt mean its gonna be cheap by any means.....

Sounds pretty much like US and European culture too, its just done quietly and behind closed doors.

Ie random MP , I object to this and that law...

What he really means is I want a bribe, at which during the summer they will be sent on a fact finding mission somewhere hot where there is no need for a fact finding mission, the galapagos islands were visited loads of times to see if the natives could return = bribes.

With Zanulabour its exactly the same,

They should start arresting anyone with paper currency, seeing as some of it will definitely have 0.03g of coke on it. Slightly ridiculous, but no sympathy for Grooverider. Everyone knows just how illegal cannabis is in certain countries, taking even a 10 bag over is a bit stupid.

Dubai pardons Briton 'with cannabis on shoe'

43-year-old Briton arrested at Dubai airport with 0.003 grams of cannabis on shoe sole pardoned.

DUBAI - A British man sentenced to four years in jail in the Gulf emirate of Dubai for having a tiny amount of cannabis stuck to his shoe has been pardoned, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Andrew Brown was released early from prison in the Western-orientated emirate which is a popular destination for British tourists, the English language 7Days reported, without stating how much of the jail term he served.

The 43-year-old was arrested in September at Dubai International Airport after customs officers found 0.003 grams (0.0001 ounces) of cannabis on the sole of one his shoes.

The UAE imposes tough penalties for all drug-related offences. Four years is the usual sentence for possession while trafficking carries the death penalty.

The Gulf News reported on February 19 that a Dubai court had sentenced British dance DJ Grooverider to four years in prison for drug possession.

The newspaper said 2.16 grammes (0.076 ounces) of marijuana was found in his luggage at the airport in November when he arrived to perform a gig in the emirate.

I take this to read as...

.Arab King has hairy fit when he sees western paper's printing an otherwise unheard of story about a ludicrous charge. 'Quickly, free that man before we loose tourism and people think we're just savages masquerading as civilised'.

The poor bastard was probably locked up since September and it took a famous DJ being arrested to get his story in the limelight. Bet an Arab jail isn't much fun either.[/quote]

Aye but the media and their knowledge of drug prices is like looking to Parkers for the price of car, usually well over the top. Anecotal, but I rememeber something along the lines of 'Cannabis with a street value of £xxxxxx was discovered' and it working out to something like £25 an eighth.

Lol yeah I;ve read articles before on similar busts etc and they claim hundreds of thousands of punds street value, and several mates have been like "Who the feck are they goin to for their weed/coke/etc". Usually waaaaaaaaaay exagerrated by the media to give the plod a better image in the public eye.

That reminds me when me and a mate bought a hundred pills. The guy weighed them out as opposed to counting them. When we got back we counted out 200 Laughing As we were about to call him, he called us to say the filth had raided his house and the dirty bastards had pinched a hundred of his pills.

Needless to say the ensuing weeks were.....fun Laughing

One made me laugh on the news the other day, some Koreans or something started up a little factory in a nice area. The police were tipped off by someone and they got raided. No one ever knew it was a drugs lab due to trouble as they fitted in nicely with the rest of the people, not affecting anyone. The reporter said “And all of this was going on….in a neighbourhood watch area” BWAHAHAHAAA! WTF does that even mean?!
Why not swap that 3 bedroom detached cannabis factory for a pub. Then they’d fucking notice.

Haha yeah same thing happened near me, some Vietnamese had bought a house and were growing ganja in it, no one suspected a thing, it was noticed by a boby on patrol walking past the house randomly and he noticed the stench eminating from the house.
Neighbours said they were clueless as the people living there had always been very pleasent, had sent christmas cards to the neighbours, put xmas cards and a tree up in the front room to make it all look kosher lmao, you gotta admire their spirit I suppose.

Those Vietnamese growhouses are everywhere, ones being closed down daily yet the supply of weed isn't really affected. God knows how many there actually are but the sooner they're no longer attracted to this country the better.

They're only here because of the black market demand for cannabis, which in itself is created by prohibition. There's one very easy way the government could get rid of them all in one go, without needing to waste stupid amounts of police resources in raiding them. Plus it'd also see lots of drug dealers out of jobs.

Grow houses seem to often be run by fools though. They're dangerous with their bypassing the meter, plus there's only so long an address can manage having 0 electricity usage before someone twigs that something isn't right. And that leccy they're using for free will be paid for by the rest of the population. Getting busted cos of the smell sounds a very newbie mistake!

Then there's the ones who get busted cos they're still got xmas decorations up in February. Laughing

Media drug values are always wrong, without fail! Thumbs Down

I've said it before and I'll no doubt say it again... but if you smoke weed, you ought to be growing your own, like.

Cut out all this madness that goes on.

If I was PM ( Very Happy ) I'd sling anyone that had weed on them, in the street in Nick, but slyly promote growing your own and smoking it in your own home.
