ive driven a few different cars, one of which i utterly thrashed in our field...
what i found was this:
you can get a car into 1st from reverse whilst going backwards, but you cant get a car into reverse whilst its moving, if you try you get a nice KKRRRKRKRKRKKR noise.
why does this happen? safety mechanism?
it made 360 handbrake turns very difficult to learn ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. yeah, do you know anything about whats physically going on to do it though?
i mean, i know how a clutch works, so surely with the clutch in it should just slide into gear? ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. Reverse is usually via an idler gear. Which is a spur tooth (Why reverse allways sounds dead squeelie). It depends on how the sycncro operates.
I guess if you were to double clutch it would permit the reverse to mesh from fwd to rev.
Not much safety in this.
Have you ever had a deisel start in reverse and give you 5 rev and 1 fwd? Cool.... Except for the smoke that pours into the car... ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |

>>Clicky<<. If you forced a reverse form driving it would just mash the gears in the box, nothing more. ____________________ Roger wrote: Women don't get damp for clingy puppies. Get some better happy pills, hit the gym & buy a medallion the size of a dinner plate. Job done |

Handbrake turn is not done from 1st to revs......
To do this you:
Select a more responsive gear to pull away in. 1st
Dip the clutch.
Hoi the handbrake on to lock the rear wheels but keep the button pressed in.
This causes a loss of tyre adhesion.
Then you turn the wheeel in the direction you want.
As the arse-end slides round you release the brake as you engage th drive and floor it.
I is the bit where you let the back end swing and where you stop the swing that is most difficult to master.
Simple homemde Skid pan.
5 gallons of old engine oil.
ASDA carpark when less cars around.
Spread the oil Bob's your Uncle. ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |
