Im really looking forward to going, but im secretly bricking it to be honest. From what i read it seems that theres a shit load of accidents on public evenings/days. Im going for 2 days at the end of may with about 8 others but will probably only go round it once.

Checked that part of the Ghostie vid earlier. Going by the time clock on the vid, he does a 7m20s bridge to gantry, which is fucking quick. I'm not wholly convinced it's not edited, but hey, still damn quick.

There is a lot of bullshit talked about the 'ring, how it's the most dangerous place in the world or whatever, but the fact is, it just isn't.

If you act like a cock, you will bin it. If you act like its a trackday, you will bin it. If you act like it's the Nurburgring, with no run off, and loads of other bikes and cars, some of which are much, much faster than you, and an uncertain surface, then you should be fine.

I went there last year, did 12 laps in total. The first few were so slow, indicating right all the time to let people past, I must have been taking 12 minutes or so to get round. You get used to it though, start learning the track properly (though Tourist Trophy/GT4/vids helps a lot for layout), and the times fall. Ended up doing a 9m4sec in the end. Hope to go sub 8m30s when I go back in Easter.

It just takes time to work up to it.
