I'd have a cup of tea then kick myself repeatedly in the head.

Yes it can be done.

Just bare in mind that if the police find it before you do they will organize a recovery company to collect it on your behalf... costing £105!

So if its out there try and find it first.

Good luck!

Tell Bill that YOU will arrange collection. They are supposed to give you the option but rarely do.
A while back my old 125 was nicked, Bill caught the cocky shit riding it the next day just down the road from me. He dropped it and did a runner, so they arranged collection for me (how sweet) then informed me I could now collect it from recovery firm 25 miles away for £105 + 12ea day they had it, gee, thanks Evil or Very Mad . I could have put my slippers on and walked the 3 minutes down the road to pick it up myself.
To finish me off the bike was scrap (worth sub £500 to start, they cut all ignition wires, broke all plastics, front light, indicators...) they caught the dick (he was 22, life looks good for him), took him to court, already had a record for this type of activity, and he got a £300 fine, payable to the courts, I got nothing.
So go tell the Police, take a friend and go looking round all fields, roads and anywhere scum hang out, hopefully it will be reasonably ok if you find.
Good luck

You can sue the guy for the damage to your bike and recovery costs.

Yeah, did think about it, but at the end of the day he probably on chat so I would get £1 a week and give him "just cause" in his thick head to pop round one night and damage my new bike. It's the way it works with these pricks. Really I blame the justice system for letting him off, the Police did all they could, they actually traced him by his DNA!! When he did a runner he threw his lid down and they found two strands of his hair and matched DNA to records on database. I was like, f~kin Quincy or what Thumbs Up Of course the twat could have denied all and said he lost lid weeks ago but he obviously knew nothing would happen to him so admitted it. And that says it all, Police did all that work, and £300 fine just paid for the Magistrate to turn up for the 30 minutes to fine him his fee. But I have his name, address, and saw a photo (nice police lady showed me) so anything happens in future Twisted Evil But for now I let him live his shit life, 22 and nicking 125's, his life will only get worse.
